Performing Arts Program runs a free Youth Theatre Program (YTP)
for grades K – 8. The theatre exercises help children to develop a
better self-image by giving them an outlet to express themselves
safely in public. The participants that are enrolled in this program
learn self-discipline, stage presence, and the ability to enunciate the
words clearly, thus helping their public speaking. Participants of the
Mid Ohio Valley have the opportunity to experience theatre on a fully
equipped stage, with a curtain, sound system and professional stage
lighting.
Not interested in being on stage? We also offer a Youth Theatre
Tech Class. Participants learn about all the behind the scene
aspects involved in a theatre production. They are involved in set
building, costume design, and publicity. Then they put all their
knowledge into action when they put on the productions.
