The S.U.N.S.H.I.N.E. Learning Station - (Follows Marietta City School Schedule)
Mon. – Fri. 4:15 PM – 5:15 PM Multiple positions available Tutors work only 1 day a week
•  Job description: Tutoring elementary school children in reading, math, writing and homework
help.  If desired the tutor can also assist the teacher with Gym time or Art room time.  Great for any
volunteer who likes younger children or Education Majors but not required.

Middle School Program  - (Follows Marietta City School Schedule)
Mon. – Thurs. 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM (5:00 PM) Multiple positions available Tutors work only 1
day a week
•  Job Description: Tutoring Middle School Children in basics of reading, math and homework.  
Possibly helping with games in the gym several days a week.  Good for volunteers who can relate
to Middle School Children or Middle School Education Majors.

Performing Arts Youth Theatre Program
Time: Tuesdays 4:00 PM – 5:45 PM (Acting Class) Thursdays 4:15 PM – 5:30 PM (Tech Class)
•  Job Description:  Assist Drama teacher as needed with the production of a play put on by
students in grades K – 8. Help with the scenery and final production in December & late April.

Book Give Away
Time: Flexible Except for the week of the events, first Saturday in November & late March
early April.  Books are delivered in early March and October
•  Job Description: The Book Give Aways are held twice a year, early November and Spring.  
•  Responsibilities include preparing the room for the event and working the day of the event.
•  Prior to the event the books need to be unloaded, sorted, and displayed properly.
The day of the event, we need help manning the doors, taking the books out to cars and moving
books up to more visible places when possible.  The shifts are generally in 3-hour intervals.

West African Museum & Underground Railroad History
Time: Flexible –any time the building is open. (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Mon. – Fri.)
•  Job Description: Continue work started in documentation, photography, & keep displays fresh .
•  Interested volunteers can work with Henry Burke, an Underground Railroad Expert, to videotape
as many of his stories as possible. ECEF has a professional digital video camera. You would be
working with the current WAM group.        

General Office Work
Time: Flexible – any time the building is open. (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Mon. – Fri.)
•  Job Description:  Updating databases as needed, helping prepare for our annual mailing in the
spring, answering the phone, help Café with cost accounting and ordering as well as other
secretarial work as needed.

Boy Scout Troop 231
Time:
Mondays 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM)
•  The Ely Chapman Education Foundation Sponsors Boy Scout Troop 231, the largest Troop in
the Washington District and Allohak Council.  There are many volunteer opportunities available for
those interested in helping.

Library
Time: Flexible – Prefer Afternoon Hours
•  Shelve, organize, and enter new books as they come in.  Help students select books as well.
